Correct licencing should form a critical part of the decision making process when selecting a partner for IT Asset Management and Disposal.
Getting it wrong and selecting partners that provide no answers to your questions or a "no questions asked" type service is likely to be exposing you to risks and dangers with your redundant IT assets.
BTR UK holds a number of licences and accreditations, including:
Waste Management Licence – Licence No: EAWML 50486
We are licenced by the Environment Agency of England and Wales to store, treat and dispose of redundant IT and electrical waste. We are regularly audited by the EA, who are given full visibility of equipment handled, volumes processed and disposal routes used. This costly and comprehensive site licence demonstrates our commitment to the ethical and responsible processing of the inevitable portion of waste that arises from our asset management work.
Approved authorised treatment facility (aatf) – Licence No: WEE/FH0003ZS/ATF
We are licenced by the Environment Agency of England and Wales to operate as an Approved Authorised Treatment Facility which allows us to both process WEEE and to issue evidence notes for the treatment, recovery and recycling of that material.
Waste Carriers Licence – Licence No: NSO/547385/CB
We are licenced by the Environment Agency of England and Wales to transport hazardous and non-hazardous IT and electrical waste. A Waste Carrier's Licence must be held by anyone transferring or collecting waste, under the terms of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
ISO9001:2000 Quality Standard Licence No: FS 86642
BTR UK is registered to this quality standard under licence. The standard underpins all of our processes, procedures and management information systems and ensures a consistent high level of service.
ISO14001:1996 Environmental Standard Licence No: FS 86642
BTR UK is registered to this environmental standard under licence. The standard governs the recovery, refurbishment, and resale of electrical equipment, components, sub-assemblies and the electronic destruction of hard disks and other magnetic media. Our ISO 14001 policies underpin all of our environmental processes, environmental management systems and commitment to reducing our impact on the environment.
