Software Data Erasure
The use of a software data erasure tool preserves the integrity of the Hard Disk and allows the reuse or resale of hardware should the customer choose.
BTR use the most secure data erasure product, Blancco†. This product has been accredited by the UK Government as an Approved Product for use by all Government Departments. It is the only product approved by the UK Government for data erasure up to both Enhanced and Baseline Overwriting standards.
If technical problems with the machine in which the data bearing media is installed fails then the data bearing item(s) (usually hard disks) is removed for individual data eradication using the same Blancco product as above.
ONSITE DATA ERASURE
For the most sensitive of situations BTR offers the option of data eradication being undertaken on the customers site.
This allows the permanent, irrevocable eradication of data without it ever leaving the customers site.
Reporting and Guarantee
All data eradication is supported by a Certificate of Data Erasure and a report detailing at individual asset level the disks that have been purged of data.
The advanced reporting capabilities of the Blancco Erasure tools mean that BTR will underwrite its certificate with a unique £1,000,000 Professional Indemnity Insurance. This insurance will underwrite any claims for damages as a result of negligence under the Data Protection Act.
